Planning Tomorrow’s Energy Needs Today

Welcome to the Energy Research Programme: help build a picture of energy usage across the UK and receive £100* for taking part.

What’s it all about?

This research is a process of sampling energy usage at sites with low demand. We’re now seeking candidates to join the research sample and if your property is suitable all we’ll do is measure your energy every half hour.

How will we do this?

We’ll install a smart meter next to your existing meter and will collect your energy consumption remotely.

What’s in it for you?

We’ll give you £100* as a ‘thank you’. By taking part you’ll be helping the energy industry better predict and plan for future demand. This could mean more accurate power generation, leading to cheaper bills and reduced environmental impacts.                                                                                                                                                                                              

Who can take part?

Domestic consumers - ideally we want a good cross-section of the population. Your colleagues, friends and family may also be interested, so please tell them about the research.

Who are IMServ?

Totally independent of generators and suppliers, we’re the UK’s biggest collector of energy usage data, helping organisations and individuals focus on consumption, costs and the environment. We work with ELEXON, the governing body that manages the rules for meter and data collection companies.                           

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one. We’ll install a small piece of kit next to your existing meter, make readings electronically, and pay you £100* for taking part. It’s simple!
